Thurgoland Pre-school offers pre-school development and education for children between the ages of two and half and school age.

Thurgoland Pre-school is situated in a new, purpose built, building which provides both indoor and outdoor play facilities and excellent disabled access. We are situated in the grounds of Thurgoland C.E. School, with whom we maintain close links.

There are nine members of staff whose aims are:
• To provide a relaxed and friendly environment where children can play, socialise and
develop at their own pace.
• To introduce children to a "learn through play" approach, full of fun and adventure which is so important in those early days.
• To provide pre-school education in accordance with the Government's foundation stage for early years education.

Thurgoland Pre-school offers a combination of sessions to suit most needs during term time:
9.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. (which includes a lunchtime session)
1l.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. (again including a lunchtime session)
1.00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
9.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Government funded places are available for children from the term following their third birthday.

Additionally, there is an active Baby and Toddler Group affiliated to the Pre-school which meets every Thursday during term time at the Youth Centre in Thurgoland between 9.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.
