Barnsley Choices Training Courses

Important news!!

In partnership with Longcar CPD team there will be a new procedure for you to book onto any CPD course or activity that Barnsley Choices and Early Years team will be offering from April 1st onwards.

We will not be sending out the normal training manual but to bring the CPD programme into the 21st century you will be able to access our programme online. The new system is called EMS online and training manager online booking systems. Settings-need to nominate an authoriser to book staff onto CPD, this may be the manager or person responsible for CPD within the setting.

Once you have decided who your authoriser will be you need to inform the CPD team via CPD@barnsley.gov.uk or call 01226 720338 with the following details:

The named person
The name of the setting
Email address
Telephone number

Once your setting is set up the authoriser need to book CPD through www.barnsley.gov.uk, Education & Skills, Training & Development then select EMS Online. Setting staff, however can ‘browse’ all the CPD available via Training Manager Online. Follow the link https://education.barnsley.gov.uk/ems_public/

Childminders-need to register with Training Manager Online, browse the CPD available and book themselves on via www.barnsley.gov.uk, Education & Skills, Training & Development, select Training Manager Online.

Don’t worry if you do not have access to a computer we will still be sending out course information and there will be a procedure for booking using an application form.

We will be going back to basics for the summer term offering mandatory training such as first aid, food hygiene, Early Years Foundation stage, launching a bigger programme September onwards.
