The Hilltoppers is to be found nestling in the corner of The Hill Primary School in the village of Thurnscoe. By being part of a primary school it also means that the children have an easy transition into full time education.

Whilst we are a self-sufficient foundation stage setting, we are also excited at the prospect of being able to take advantage of the school's new sport's hall, art rooms and dining facilities soon to be completed.

At the moment the nursery has 84 part time places for children aged 3 & 4 years of age. However, it is proposed that we will soon be able to offer a further 40 child care places on a full time basis.

All our staff are fully, highly trained professionals who believe that children learn through well structured, meaningful play. We also recognise that children should be able to play securely and safely so we have a camera operated security system in place.

The nursery has grass, trees and pathways for children to explore the outdoors, whilst the bright and cheerful indoors is extensively resourced, well furnished and has designated areas that can promote specific types of learning and development.

We offer a wealth of exciting educational experiences and provide an inclusive curriculum to meet the needs of all children including those with special needs.

All the nursery planning and assessment is linked directly to the Dfee document 'Curriculum guidance for the Foundation Stage' and the six areas of learning.
